Celtic Woman’s Lynn Hilary:Makes a Name for Herself

Before her name became an international hit, she released a solo album called Take Me Home. As a former member of Anuna , you won’t be surprise where she got her vocal swirls….Too bad there is a news that Alex Sharpe is leaving the group. How can these women really bond when everyone comes and goes..well except the core members. I still miss Hayley

O slan is cead, on dtaobh seo uaim
Cois Maigh na gcaor na gcraobh na gcruach
Na stait na sead na soar na slua
Na ndan na dreacht na dtrean gan ghruaim

Och, ochon, is breoite mise
Gan chuid, gan choir, gan choip, gan chiste
Gan sult, gan seod, gan spoirt, gan spoinnadh
O seoladh me chun uaignis

O Slan go heag, do saorfhir shuairc
Da dhaimh, da chleir, de heigs, de sua
Do’m chairde cleibh gan chlaon, gan chluain
Gan chaim, gan chain, gan chraos, gan chruas

Is fanach faon me, is fraochmhar fuar
Is tamhlag traith, is taomach trua

Och, ochon is breoite mise
Gan chuid, gan choir, gan choip, gan chiste
Gan sult, gan seod, gan spoirt, gan spionnadh
O seoladh me chun uaignis

New Zealand’s Other Facet That We Adore

Irish Dancing in New Zealand

Irish Dancing in New Zealand

After listening to Hayley Westenra’s recordings, I became fascinated with New Zealand and how Celtic music has brought such influence to its people . In one interview, the traveling  Enya said that New Zealand reminds her of Ireland. I think the beautiful landscape says it all. The same thing that made Peter Jackson shot the Lord of The Rings Trilogy there.

So how Celtic can New Zealand get? Very Celtic. But so far the resources stopped giving updates after 2006. But I was able to salvage this site in case you want to know recordings already released. You might also want to follow musicians like Bob McNeill who is currently touring to promote his new album Following  Distance.

Here’s a little bit of Celtic music for you

Celtic1Happy Sunday.Your music Druid has been busy sorting his life but what can I say? Life is blessed and life is beautiful.I have enjoyed some Hayley Westenra music and of course this one from Clannad. Check it out.Clannad – Coinleach Glas an Fhómhair

The first time I heard that song I fell inlove with it right away. It has a poignant simplicity with only Moya Brennan’s voice gliding through accompanied by acoustic guitar and bass.I have played that song almost everywhere in my travels but the best venue I got was on a mountain, early morning after the rain.

What I  love about Celtic music is the atmosphere. You can’t help but be transported somewhere, to a better place than this.It carries you like a bird on wings.
