Sure I have been away from the computer most of the time but not on my music player;) These are the list of artists I would suggest you listen to if you are looking for authentic Celtic stuff:

1. Connie Dover-The Border of Heaven conniedover2

The “voice so pure, so captivating, that it tells you: this is how to sing a song” artist released this wonderful album in 2001. My choice picks are: I Am Going to the West, Brother Green , My Dearest Dear and The Water is Wide. Visit her official homepage.

2. Cecile Corbel-Song Book vol. 2cecile-corbel-song-book2-nov2008

If you haven’t picked up Cecile Corbel’s latest recording yet, then I recommend you give her a listen. This Breton artist has already established herself as one of the formidable forces in the Celtic arena. Visit the official website.

3. Jenny Mulvey-Suirimulveycd01

Beautiful singing, eclectic approach to traditional material-these are what you can expect from this Irish singer. You can listen here.

4. Dom Duff-E Unanpochette_Dom_Duff

This 2008 release by this Breton recording artist is a good introduction to his earlier releases. If you like your Celtic music invading the festive barracks of the Gypsy Kings and moving a few degrees into the realm of Sting then Dom Duff is for you. More sound samples here.

5. Sue Aston-Sacred Landscapessueaston

This pro violinist from Cornwall has all the chops to charm her way into the hearts of her listeners. If you like your music with a mellow waltz of Secret Garden and the mysticism of Cornwall then ms Aston will light your way. Samples can be heard here.

Track Listing for The Very Best of Enya Announced!

Hello folks. The official Enya news section has confirmed the track listing for The Very Best of Enya compilation. Both can be expected: A CD alone track listing and the special, plus DVD edition. I personally love the choice of order in the special edition especially due to the inclusion of My My Time Flies!

If some of you aren’t aware yet, Sirenes: The Beauty of the Female Voice has been out in the market since last year. It was mentioned by Justin Elswick of Sleepthief in the interview so I did my  investigation and it is such a great find.

Vinyl Collector’s Treat

My friend Vinyl Collector from Unity was kind in contributing his stuff to this site. He collects all formats and right now he has a lot of vinyl records in his growing library. After catching up with him , we able to provide these photos . As a vinyl collector myself this is such a visual treat

According to him:

I’ve been collecting vinyl records probably since 1985 and I was around 15 years old.

How many records in my library? Well I’ve sized it down some, so I would say over 500 records just guessing.

Right now I have 4 turtables in my collection. Two of them made by Dual Germany, one made by Releastic, and one made by Sharp, that plays both sides of the record without having to turn the record over.

I love Enya, and Loreena McKennitt, Clannad, Chicane who did the Moya Saltwater track, The Chieftains, and Nightnoise an Irish group, just to name a few.

The New Best Of Enya Album Out This November 16,2009

Listen up Enya fans! The new The Best of Enya album is on the way. It has been confirmed by Aigle and the tracks are chosen by the trio, Enya, Nicky and Roma. There will also be a special edition which will contain a DVD and documentary footage. What do I expect? Nothing less from the trio who crafted wonderful albums that remain mesmerizing up to this day. I am so excited about the documentary too. I hope it will feature the working process in the studio and also an information about the trio and their continued collaboration up to now which has remain unbroken.
