I am all about Eimear Quinn

eimear-colour-2

Everyone was talking about Eimear Quinn when the won the Eurovision Song  Contest with ‘The Voice’ in 1996. Pol Brennan of Clannad composed the song. Her souring pure soprano and classical technique won her fans from each side of the Atlantic.

She then proceed to release an album ‘Through The Lens of A Tear” about the Celtic cycle of Tristan and  Isuelt.   Again the album is composed and produced by Pol Brennan and released through Decca Classics. This year, Eimear is  set to perform with The Priests in Belfast. For the updates,  you can visit her official website. For song samples you can click on her official MySpace page which also has her blog and tour dates. Eimear  also performed with the Celtic choir Anuna

Capercaillie’s Famed Fiddler Charlie McKerron

Since Blood and Roses seems to be the bands final album before plunging into solo careers, I want to highlight their fiddler Charlie McKerron. Wonder how he got all that talent? Read them here

More videos and pics here

He has a band Session A9 which I have been listening for sometime. The music is energetic and at times magical. They have a MySpace page if you want to listen to sample tracks.

So need to be sad Capercaillie fans. It looks like band members will still write and play music in different incarnations and I promise to find that out for you.

Check out this old video Coisich A Ruin” with Charlie playing on it.
