Lisa Gerrard’s Website

518993 Hi folks. It’s a lovely morning here. I just heard the King Of Pop has passed away. My condolences to his family and friends. Anyway I took a peak at Lisa Gerrard‘s website and it is undergoing construction. Maybe something big is coming up. But the picture is shocking. I looks like she is underwater and dead. Look here Well, it looks like our Gothic Queen is still Gothic after all. Been a fan of Dead Can Dance ever since I got hold of their Into The Labyrinth album . It’s a mixture of Middle Eastern/Goth/Celtic and other stuff. Very inventive.  Lisa Gerrard an Australian of Irish descent won more converts when she actually lent her compositional skills to the movie Gladiator.

Robin Bullock over Tea

robin bullock Hi folks. We have another gloomy morning. But now that it’s almost noon, sun is up. I am listening to Robin Bullock’s Greenfields which is an album for those who love the cittern and guitar. Very lovely cascading collection of strumming and plucking. If you haven’t heard it yet, then take a look at this link. With this music, I am having Earl Grey tea. Very appropriate!

I have finally recovered from flu. I missed a few days of work(which explains my furious postings) . Anyway I wish you all well and blessed be.

Altan-The Red Crow

41R4E8TT84L._SL500_AA240_I am spending the rainy evening listening to Altan’s The Red Crow. It’s the second album from the Band. My favorite track is Flower of Magherally. Mairéad Ní Mhaonaigh has a voice of an angel. So what do we have for the upcoming days? Well, I will be cutting a bit on my furious posting because I now have three blogs. But I will be updating this site. I do promise to make my writings more personal from now on. Just like I am talking to you. Music will still be there (of course) but sometimes we need the human touch.

Eithne Ni Chathain – from Kildare to the World

She is the lighter Sinead O’ Connor possessing Cara Dillon’s poignant honesty.  Eithne Ní Chatháin shines in her debut “Eithne”. She grew up in Country Kildare but was influenced by Sean-nos recordings in her household. She also mastered instrumental playing and has several instruments featured in this album. Beautiful, poised and talented,  Eithne Ní Chatháin is a name we will be looking at record stores as well as on-line. Check out her official MySpace site for more details.

Come hear the Anglo-Irish band Flook.

brick-1-310d

Snappy instrumental pieces. Unrivaled technique. Flook has spent 13 years polishing their craft . Now they deserved to be heard.

In December 2008, the band decided to call it a day. But their music still echoes. You can hear them here.
